Dragon Naturally Speaking for Mac

What terrific news! The best voice recognition software comes to OS X.
ITWire reports that Dragon Naturally Speaking will be released for OS X by Macspeech, replacing iListen. 
Significant discounts will be given to licensed iListen users. So start digging into those AT Team boxes and scour the attic, basement, or wherever your old software lurks. Early rumors are that the voice training may be easier than ever. February is given as a release date. Maybe it will be at ATIA.

It’s about time Dragon Naturally Speaking came out for Macs. Now if Mac would just improve their voices. The newest one in Leopard is marginally better, but still has a long way to go.

The Infovox iVox voices by Assistiveware.com are really good. They use the acapela voices. You can get a fully functioning 30 day demo.

It is good news indeed. I know we also offer a special ClaroRead 2008 for Mac/ Dragon NaturallySpeaking Preferred Bundle for those interested in doing Dragon dictation directly into Mac applications. With the help of Parallels, Dragon will work alongside ClaroRead for Mac due to Claro’s bridging program SpeakIn, which captures text from Dragon and seamlessly loads it into Apple applications.
I wonder though how many new tools and resources the new Dragon for Mac will have compared to this bundle?
Either way we’ll likely start stocking Dragon for OS X after February anyway.
