Are you participating in the public beta test of myWebspiration. (www.mywebspiration.com) From the makers of the graphic organizing softwares Inspiration, Kidspiration, and Inspiredata, comes the web 2.0 version of the software. In my intial trials of using myWebspiration, my impression is that for the basics it works just like Inspiration, my graphic organizing software of choice. Yet, gosh do I miss being able to do (contro/ command e). That resizes your graphic. There a few other usability features that will also be upgraded, such as undo, super small cell color fill buttons, and other problems related to overriding the browser function keys. Hey, that’s why its a beta right? I just started a collaborative project using the sharing feature and will report on how it goes. Overall, I think this software has great potential to give students access to the software at home, which assumes that the company continues its aggressively priced bulk liscensing options for schools.

Sam,
I just signed up and had a quick check. I looks like a great tool especialy while it is in Beta and free! I will be teloling my Middle School friends later today!
Hi Sam,
Thanks for sharing this! I don’t have to make visual outlines manually anymore!
I’m going to pass this along to teachers, writers, writers groups, and web designers I know. They have been looking for something like this for years.
Please keep sharing stuff like this!
Thank you!

Thanks for sharing this. I’ll have some students play around with it. They are often the best critics…honest and eager.
Hearing your responses gets me both excited to see what students think and about my own personal use of the system. The collaborative part is very neat for everyone.
Found this while looking for something to help my homeschooling son with organizers for writing papers. He seems to have a mild dysgraphia which results in much time wasted when he goes between the brainstorming and the composition of text. The organizer to outline feature makes it feel like the paper is half written. We are frustrated that we don’t have an easy way to save the outline in a word processor though. We’re having to make a pdf and then convert it to text.
Hello bearsmom,
Know that you could have a word processing document open running in the background. Then from the very start of the branch, go to edit and copy. You can then paste it in the open document.
Seems like this should be much easier, so I will email my contact there.
Hi, I’m Don Helfgott from Inspiration Software. Webspiration is a work in progress and as such is missing some basic features like export to word processor. We are diligently working on filling in the gaps. Webspiration should have this feature by early spring.
Don, thanks for commenting. The online software is terrific. Good to know you are refining it further. Keep up the good work.
